The American Society of Travel Advisors’ Political Action Committee (ASTAPAC) was established in 1979 to represent the collective voice of the Society's travel advisor membership before the United States Congress and the White House. For nearly 40 years, ASTAPAC has served as the only PAC for travel advisors, educating elected officials about our issues and counterbalancing opposing positions. Within the last five years alone, ASTAPAC has raised over $680,000 in support of worthy, pro-travel advisor candidates.
The ASTA Government & Political Affairs Committee oversees all aspects of the PAC, including fundraising campaigns and determining which political candidates receive ASTAPAC contributions. ASTA’s Government Affairs department works to ensure that ASTAPAC functions properly and remains compliant with federal reporting requirements.
ASTAPAC funds are granted, in a bipartisan manner, to those candidates whose views are consistent with ASTA on issues vital to the travel advisor and tourism industry. Through your active participation, your recommendations to the ASTA Government & Political Affairs Committee and your voiced concern on key issues, you decide the candidates ASTAPAC supports. We want to hear from you frequently and clearly.
ASTAPAC depends primarily on personal, voluntary contributions from ASTA members on an annual basis. It can also accept funds from member companies, allied members and non-members but these “soft dollars” can only be used for operational expenses and not for campaign contributions. Neither ASTA, nor any ASTA member employer, will favor or disadvantage anyone based upon whether they contribute or decline to contribute, or on the amount of any contribution.

Many of you may have received an email from Garrett Landry, Market Sales Manager for the Pacific Northwest, however we thought we would share some information with you.
As you know, out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both their guests and crew, Celebrity Cruises made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining cruises of its Asia season. Due to those cancellations, the ship is being relocated to the West Coast where it will take on several great sailings.
She will start with some California sailings, however those details have not been finalized. After completing those sailings, she will move up to Seattle where she will conduct two (2) roundtrip sailings (5 nights) with stops in Astoria, Victoria and Vancouver BC. She will then sail some 11 night early season Alaska sailings (one RT Seattle sailing and one Seattle to Vancouver sailing) both with stops in 7 amazing Alaska ports of call and Inside Passage Cruising.
As a thank you to Celebrity Travel Partners, they will give you a free cabin for 3 cabins sold on these!
As another thank you, they are offering a $50 bonus commission on select 2020 sailings! For a limited time, book a Retreat, Aqua Class, Concierge Class or Veranda stateroom on qualifying sailings and earn a $50 bonus commission. This is fleet wide, so take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to close some Celebrity bookings!
