Action Needed
As many of you have heard, the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) is proposing to increase Seller of Travel fees, effective November 2020. The fees will be increased by 25% from $202 to $258 annually. While the dollar amount may be small, the percentage is not, and the increase couldn't come at a worse time for our industry. According to ASTA's research, more than 70% of US travel agencies will be out of business within six months in the absence of meaningful relief from the government. Instead of relief, we get this fee increase - insult on top of injury. If anything, the state should be reducing or waiving fees and otherwise providing support to businesses in industries crippled by the pandemic. We are asking that you take two minutes out of your day to contact your state legislators through THIS LINK and them them to force DOL to back off this increase.
